25th Anniversary of the Fall of the Wall: Attractive Packages from Berlin's Hotels

Deals for ‘Wallpeckers’: visitberlin.de/en/hotel-offers

Pecking your own piece of the original Berlin Wall is still possible even a quarter century after the Fall of the Wall, which Berlin celebrates with his guests from 7th till 9th November 2014. The special ‘wallpecker’ package from the Westin Grand in Berlin-Mitte is just one of the numerous package deals being offered by the city's hotels to mark this memorable anniversary. Others include visits to the DDR Museum or a tour along the former course of the Wall in an authentic East German Trabant car. The Adlon Kempinski Hotel offers a shuttle service from the airport using a Trabant. A car with a two-stroke engine used in the former socialist part of Germany.

Other hotels have come up with something special for those guests coming for conferences. Several hotels are turning back the clock and dusting off menus that were served more than 25 years ago. For example, the InterContinental Berlin is offering its "Wall Special" with Russisch Ei (a variant on a devilled egg) and Schopska salad from Bulgaria.

Some of the packages offered by visitBerlin's partner hotels are already available, whilst others will only be available as part of the anniversary weekend from 7th -9th November. The weekend will be marked with many events, culminating in a spectacular light installation along the former course of the Wall.

A list of hotel packages can be found at: visitberlin.de/en/hotel-offers. For more information about the events and exhibitions marking the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall, go to wall.visitBerlin.com.
