Customer survey: The best ski areas for ski holidays in 2015/2016

France‘s ski area La Plagne and the French region Les 3 Vallées have received top votes from European ski holiday enthusiasts. The third rank goes to Sölden in Austria. These are the results from a customer survey, undertaken by the ski holiday tour operator SnowTrex during the past five ski seasons. Around 40,000 customers from eight different nations took part in the survey.

Overall results:

Ski area / Vote / Recommendation rate in %

La Plagne / 9.65 / 96

Les 3 Vallées / 9.58 / 98

Sölden / 9.50 / 98

Silvretta Arena (Ischgl) / 9.50 / 97

Tignes / 9.50 / 95

Zillertal (6 ski areas) / 9.40 / 98

Val di Fiemme-Obereggen / 9.32 / 98

Stubai Glacier / 9.30 / 94

Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang / 9.23 / 98

The ski areas were rated via a scale from 1 (= bad) to 10 (=top). If any ski areas were rated identically, the recommendation rate decides over the ranking. The data basis for the ranking is based on 250 ski areas located throughout Europe, which each received at least 50 ratings in the winter season 2015/14, and at least 250 ratings during the past five seasons.
