BIOSAFE GOES DIRECT IN BRAZIL, ACQUIRING ITS LOCAL DISTRIBUTOR

Eysins (Switzerland) March 30th (PROTEXT/ots) - After a successful partnership of 10 years with its local distributor ACTS do Brasil Ltda., effective immediately Biosafe has acquired all ACTS’ Biosafe-related business, which has been spun off into a separate operating entity, Biosafe Brasil Distribuidora Ltda. Terms have not been disclosed.
This move will allow Biosafe to offer an extended range of benefits to customers in Brazil, including direct product support and service.
Today most public and private cord blood banks throughout the country already process with Biosafe’s proprietary Sepax technology, which is also used by a number of customers for regenerative medicine applications.
Olivier Waridel, CEO of the Biosafe Group commented: “We firmly believe in the potential of the Brazilian market and this acquisition will further expand our business in our core markets of stem cell banking, regenerative medicine and bioprocessing. Elsewhere in Latin America, Biosafe products are sold through distributors in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Chile. Biosafe plans to extend the network to additional countries in the near future.
