Berlin. FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7050, from the Berlincommunications specialist AVM, is available now. The new producttakes its place at the top of the FRITZ!Box Fon line, combininga router, an ADSL modem, wireless LAN, and a VoIP PBX in one.Connected extension phones can dial calls over the Internet orthe fixed line. Moreover, the new model supports the use of ISDNequipment- phones and PBXs-for Internet telephony, or Voice-over-IP. ISDN features such as three-party calls, call forwarding andCaller ID are also provided with Internet calls. The routerprovides Internet access to computers connected through one USBand two LAN ports. For wireless connections, FRITZ!Box Fon WLANsupports 802.11g++ at 125 Mbit/s, as well as WPA2 encryption.FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7050 is on sale now for 171,55 plusapplicable VAT.

Full ISDN Convenience in Internet Telephony

The new FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7050 provides three analogextensions and an ISDN S0 port for Internet and landline calls.This is thus the first product of its kind to extend VoIPcapabilities to ISDN telephones and ISDN PBXs. In addition toexcellent voice fidelity, using ISDN terminal equipment alsopermits the use of ISDN convenience features such as parallelcalls, call waiting, call forwarding, Caller ID, spontaneousdialing, and three- party calls in Internet telephony. If youconnect a ISDN DECT base station, you can still dial itsindividual handsets separately, since FRITZ!Box Fon manages up to10 numbers- even with different providers. The ISDN features mustalso be supported in the network by the VoIP provider.

Now Use ISDN Telephones on Analog Lines

The new FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7050 offers VoIP users morefreedom than they've ever known in combining terminal equipmentand phone lines. All extension phones can dial calls over thefixed line, whether ISDN or POTS, and over the Internet. And bothISDN and analog extension phones can be used, regardless of thetype of phone line. This ensures that existing equipment cancontinue in use, even if the user later changes lines. Inaddition to the fixed line and Internet PBX, AVM's star alsocombines a router and an ADSL modem in one device. And itconnects computers to ADSL over USB, two Ethernet interfaces,and Wireless LAN.

Maximum Wireless Security and 802.11g++

AVM's FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN demonstrates just how fast andsecure wireless ADSL access can be. Its integrated WPA2encryption (under the 802.11i standard), with compatible WLANclients such as the new FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick, allows you to setup wireless networks that are unbreakable by any knowntechnique. In addition to the 802.11g (54 Mbit/s) and 802.11b(11 Mbit/s) wireless standards, AVM now provides 802.11g++, for125 Mbit/s. The user data rates in g++ mode are about 35 percenthigher than with the 802.11g standard.

The new top-of-the-line FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7050 is on salenow. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is 171,55, plusapplicable VAT. AVM provides a five-year warranty, free supportand free firmware updates to integrate new features.
